Registration

Teams of up to five high school students will compete in individual, team, and proof-based rounds. After the rounds are over, there will be social events and campus tours. The day will conclude with an awards ceremony congratulating the top-performing teams and individuals.

• Thursday, September 5: Early bird registration opens
• Sunday October 6th: Early bird registration closes
• Sunday, October 13: Normal registration closes
• Saturday, October 26: CUBRMC 2024

All teams require a coach; a team coach may be any responsible adult—this includes teachers, club coaches, parents, etc. The registration process for teams occurs in two steps. 

1. Coaches should fill out the registration form linked here. Please ensure that the contact information for the students is accurate. The coach is responsible for paying the registration fee for the team.
2. An email will be sent to each student on the team with a form to collect further information and safety waivers. Team members should not fill out the registration form until they receive this email prompting them to do so. A team's registration is not complete until every student has completed their individual registration form. 
3. The Cornell Math Department will email the coach regarding payment details via credit card.

Individuals will be asked if they would like to be placed on a team with other individual students on the day of the competition. We recommend this option so that students can obtain the full experience of the competition. 

If an individual is registering independently from a team, the Cornell Math Department will email the student/parent regarding payment details via credit card.

• A full team will consist of 5 members, although we will allow smaller teams to participate.
• A team member must not have reached their 20th birthday before the CBRMC competition date.
• A team member must not be enrolled full-time in a post-secondary institution before the CBRMC competition date.
• Please see the registration form for registration deadlines.
• We encourage teams to come from one high school, but we understand that this is not always possible for a variety of reasons. As such, we will also accept teams from a well-defined geographic region (e.g. Finger Lakes Region), with students from multiple schools. The CUBRMC Committee will have the final decision on the legitimacy of teams that do not come from one school.
• Teams from the same school/organization with the same coach should name themselves differently (e.g. High School Team 1 and High School Team 2). 

• Individuals can participate in the CUBRMC without a team. We will provide individual students the opportunity to find team members if they opt-in on the registration form. 
• An individual must not have reached their 20th birthday before the CUBRMC competition date.
• An individual must not be enrolled full-time in a post-secondary institution before the CUBRMC competition date.

• Early Bird Registration Fee: $15 per student
• Normal Registration Fee: $25 per student

The registration fee covers the cost of a catered meal and a t-shirt for each student and team coach. Please see registration form for online payment details. If you are facing financial hardships that make the registration fee a burden, please email support@bigredmathcomp.org regarding a fee waiver.

If a student/team pays its fees and then must withdraw, we will provide a full refund, so long as we are notified by October 14, 2024.
